As you know, our Shopify app OrderlyPrint allows you to easily create and print picking lists, invoices, and packing slips for your orders. We are excited to announce a new feature that will make picking products using OrderlyPrint even easier.
A Picking List is a document that shows all of the products that need to be picked for a given order. It typically includes information such as the product name, SKU, quantity, and location in the warehouse. Picking Lists are an essential tool for any e-commerce business that uses a warehouse or fulfillment center to store and ship its products.
One of the main benefits of using Picking Lists is that they help to streamline the picking process. By providing clear and organized information about what needs to be picked, Picking Lists can help to reduce errors and ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
Starting today, you can include a column in your Picking Lists that shows the order tray and quantity for each product.
This means that you can see the total quantity to pick of a product, as well as how many go into each order tray. For example:
01 (#1001) x 2
In this example, 01 is the order tray number, and all products needed for Order #1001 will have the same order tray number. The quantity (x 2 in this case) will be displayed if the quantity is more than one.
Each order is assigned a tray number based on the sorting of the orders on the Dashboard. The order at the top of the list gets Tray 01, the second order gets Tray 02, and so on. This makes it easy to pick the products, but it also allows you to match up other documents such as the Invoice or Packing Slip. The first page goes in Tray 01, the second page in Tray 02, and so on.
To enable this new feature in your Picking Lists, follow these simple steps:
- Go to the Settings > Document design page
- Go into the Options and formats section
- In the PICKING LIST SETTINGS section, enable the checkmark Show order tray and quantity for each product
We would like to give a big thanks to Oliver for coming up with this idea and providing examples of how it would work. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. Thank you for using OrderlyPrint!
